Heroes Lore

A couple of you out there have probably been waiting for an in-depth action RPG experience the likes of Zelda or Dragon Warrior to come along for mobile.  There have been a few notable titles that have ventured into that realm but now comes Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia, one game that just might hit the spot.

Already a huge success in Korea, by mobile standards, the franchise makes its debut soon with some of the most promising action yet.  As usual, it’s an epic quest to save an entire mythical world filled with sorcery and monsters through the eyes of a young and mysterious hero who not only wields his sword with skill, but also possesses the ability to gain mastery over powerful magic.

Players have the option to choose from three characters, a Knight, Rogue or Guardian and battle through many dangers and diverse locations ranging from icy tundra to dungeons to villages in a huge world consisting of over 100 maps.  There’s a large arsenal of weapons as well, including the summoning of powerful magical guardians to confront more than 80 types of monsters and bosses.  In all, it’s a gigantic experience with more than 30 hours of playing time.

The game is played in real-time as sword strikes and magical attacks lead to leveling-up the character in different areas like attack, defense, agility and will.  By traveling through the villages, new items can be acquired for more effectiveness or for combining with others for many different effects.  There are practically endless combinations.

Heroes Lore: Wind of Soltia is probably the deepest action RPG to hit mobile phones and it promises to deliver a lengthy experience that some have been waiting for.  Granted, it’s on mobile so you may only end up playing it for a few minutes at a time.  I guess that’ll really depend how well the story and action hooks you, something that we won’t know until we get a final review version.
