Moore: 'Activision-Blizzard can't compete with us'
EA Sports president lays out super-confident plan for global domination to MCV
The rapid evolution of EA Sports in 2008 will put Activision-Blizzard’s portfolio in the shade – and help ensure Electronic Arts reclaims its rightful spot at the top of the publisher charts.
That’s according to industry legend Peter Moore, who this week unveiled his tenacious masterplan for the label exclusively to MCV.
As well as blasting those critics who he feels punish EA Sports for its size, Moore pledged to produce more titles that appeal to an international audience – rather than concentrating on EA’s heartland in the US.
And he revealed that EA Sports is desperate to lose its ‘ultra-serious’ reputation – and target the mainstream consumer like never before.
“We need to globalise, and we’re taking many steps to broaden the appeal of our product portfolio,” he said.
“We’re committed to testing the elasticity of our brand. We have a number of concepts in development that will start to evolve the EA Sports experience to something that still appeals to the hardcore but is less intimidating to casual gamers.”
