T-Mobile data ARPU up

T-Mobile UK's 'non-voice' ARPU hit 20 per cent in 2007.

That figure is up two percentage points from 18 per cent in 2006, although the company doesn't break down the split between messaging and other traffic.

Extrapolated from total ARPU (up 10 per cent in 2007 to £2.98 billion) it puts T-Mobile UK's non-voice ARPU at £595 million.

T-Mobile now has 17.3 million customers in the UK, up over 400,000 on 2006. It's rolling out HSDPA and maintains 1,000 wi-fi hotspots.

It recently dumped Google as its search provider for the Web 'n' Walk mobile web offering in favour of Yahoo.

Other content-related launches over the last 12 months are the Mobile Jukebox music downloads service and a Sky/BBC mobile TV package.

T-Mobile UK has also partnered with Orange to trial TDtv mobile broadcast TV services in London  this year.

T-Mobile UK's total revenues hit £3.3 billion in 2007, up eight per cent from the previous year.
