AT&T expands March Madness mobile coverage
AT&T announced it will expand its mobile coverage of the upcoming NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, promising exclusive video highlights, in-depth news coverage, player award voting and a bracket challenge. AT&T's MEdia Net NCAA March Madness portal will deliver to mobile subscribers video clips from each tournament game as well as expert bracket analysis, on-court interviews and classic championship moments; news, scoring updates, polls and NCAA hoops trivia will round out the package. AT&T will additionally continuing broadcasting Coaches' Corner, a six-week series of exclusive mobile video interviews launched earlier this season.
The AT&T MEdia Net NCAA March Madness portal also features the AT&T 2008 Bracket Challenge. Entrants are invited to forecast the winners of all March Madness games for their shot at a $10,000 grand prize. Prizes will be awarded at random to eligible entrants within the top 10 percent of overall points leaders. The Bracket Challenge tips off at 9 a.m. EDT on March 17 and ends at 11 a.m. EDT on March 19.
For the fourth consecutive year, AT&T will also enable fans to text their vote for the Naismith Trophy, awarded annually to the men's and women's college basketball players of the year; the operator will open voting to all NCAA basketball aficionados, regardless of their carrier affiliation. Fan votes will count toward 25 percent of the overall Naismith selection process. Voting ends at 11:59 pm EDT on April 5.
