Handango inks Carphone Warehouse deal

Two companies joins forces to take smartphone content into UK High Street retail.




The first product of this partnership is an exclusive arrangement to provide a collection of applications for the BlackBerry Pearl 8120.

The content will include ringtones, mobile games, HTML email viewer and IM clients among others.

The deal signals a new direction for Handango, which has previously sold content only through its various online portals and affiliates.

Bill Stone, CEO of Handango, said: "We are redefining the way smartphone content is distributed to the customer by working directly with retailers to effectively market and merchandise the content at the point of device purchase.
