Handango raises $9.5m VC money

Mobile app retailer Handango has raised $9.5 million in a third round of VC funding.

The Texas-based company has smart phone content deals with 16,000 developers, offering software and games for users of devices operating Palm, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, Symbian, Linux, PSP, or Tablet PC. The funding will be used to boost the company’s efforts in distribution, build its technology, and expand.

Investors in the round included Institutional Venture Partners, Advanced Technology Ventures, Centerpoint, Neo Carta, Pharos Capital Group, and SSM Partners
