Industry Move: Twistbox's Parent Mandalay Media Hires CEO
Following Twistbox Entertainment's reverse merger with Los Angeles-based Mandalay Media in January, the company said it has appointed Bruce Stein to the position of CEO. The merger allowed Twistbox, which develops mobile games and TV for carrier decks and WAP sites, to go public on the OTC.
In today's announcement, Mandalay called Twistbox Entertainment "a foundational component," of the company, and outlined its business strategy going forward. The company said it is focusing on acquiring companies in digital distribution, television assets, interactive entertainment, online media, publishing, music and theatrical film assets. Stein, who played a big role in the Twistbox merger will undoubtedly be instrumental in the company's strategy. Most recently, he founded and led The Hatchery, a company specializing in intellectual property development and entertainment production. Before that, he served in senior management positions at Mattel, Sony (NYSE: SNE) Interactive Entertainment and Kenner Products. Mandalay said it will also lean heavily on its officers and directors, including Peter Guber, Mandalay Entertainment Group's Chairman and CEO, and Rob Ellin, a partner at Trinad Capital.
