Paparazzi Snapshot

Paparazzi Snapshot is a hidden object game that places you as an aspiring photographer hot on the trail of the latest tabloid top story.  Using high-tech instruments of discovery, namely your eyes and quick shutter reflexes, it’s you against the elusive celebrity in a battle to turn scandal into cash.

In this seek-and-find title, you must first pursue clues to each of four candidates by locating a list of items scattered about a busy screen.  Locating them takes an eagle eye and when the picture is captured, you will earn money.  As that builds up, it can be used to purchase Hints for those that are much harder to find.  In general, this isn’t too difficult of a task but with so many items on the screen, and with the screen being small, the objects can be tiny at times.  That, coupled with a timer and a penalty for shooting the wrong item will make you realize just how challenging the task can get.

For extra cash, the game switches over to a comparison game in which you must find the differences between two almost-identical scenes.  It’s only a matter of locating and marking the distinctions, and there’s only a certain number of them, but again, with a timer and small objects, it’s a tough task finding them all.  This is a good thing of course since you don’t want the entire thing to be too easy.

After finding the clues and uncovering the trail to the subject you’re essentially stalking, there’s one final test for your shutterbug skills and that is to capture a snapshot of your elusive target.  Popping in and out of the scene, you have five attempts to capture the perfect front story pic, and depending on how you did overall will determine whether you do get that front page splash or are relegated to the classifieds section.

Paparazzi Snapshot uses simple point and click controls to capture the desired target on film so it’s not tough to get a handle on but it can be tricky.  That’s because the movement of the camera cursor doesn’t calibrate well with the D-pad or keypad input.  This is the phone’s fault however.  As for the game, it could have used larger images so that you’re not stuck fiercely squinting and the diminutive screen, and perhaps could also have been longer as opposed to just hunting down four targets, but it still remains a decent pastime for those who enjoy hidden object games.
