Tapatap goes worldwide
Tapatap, the social mobile gaming company, has launched a global version of its mobile internet site.
The m.tapatap.com domain allows Tapatap members on any operator worldwide to upload and share photos, enter them into contests, check current standings in real-time, and view final results and winnings.
Tapatap currently runs a wide variety of daily and monthly contests sponsored by major brands. They include “Searching for the Next Model” and “Cutest Couple”. Members can also create their own contests.
Since launching in June 2007, Tapatap has gathered two million users, 180,000 photo submissions, 5,000 user-generated photo games and contests and over $50,000 in sponsor awarded prizes.
It was founded by Andy Riedel, who also launched gaming –for-prizes company Atlas Games, which was sold to Infospace.
He said: “For the 2.0 mobile site, Tapatap focused on delivering a more entertaining mobile experience, while increasing the social community features. Tapatap’s core 16-28 year old audience, relies heavily on mobile phones for socializing. The mobile phone continues to be the main communication vehicle for our target audience to meet others.”
