AT&T tunes up for another season of Idol
AT&T announced it will again serve as the exclusive text messaging partner for Fox's reality-TV juggernaut American Idol, enabling viewers to vote for their favorite glorified karaoke singers--I mean, aspiring superstars--via SMS. AT&T will also launch a series of Idol-themed services including voting reminders, trivia, a TXT-n-Win sweepstakes promising the winner $50,000 cash and a trip for two to the Idol series finale in Los Angeles, and contestant ringtones and video clips featuring outrageous audition moments. "AT&T is pleased to once again offer text messaging as an easy and convenient way to connect people to America's favorite show," said AT&T's vice president of consumer data Mark Collins in a prepared statement. "Throughout the years, we have been thrilled that our customers who are fans of the show have embraced all of our Idol-related offerings. This season promises to be just as exciting, so be sure to watch and text your vote."
