Universal chooses Accenture for digital backend

Accenture will provide the next-gen digital supply chain services to Universal Music.

It will collate and store Universal’s audio and video content, artwork and metadata to distribute to its mobile and digital business partners. The process will be managed by Digiplug, which Accenture acquired last year and integrated into its Digital Media Services business.

The aim is to help Universal Music launch new digital products more quickly, and react to changes in the marketplace faster.
