Yahoo's new stash cache
Yahoo has unveiled onePlace, a personalised locker of a users favourite web content.
The tools is based on the simple-to-use and familiar process of using bookmarks to instantly link to practically any piece of Internet content – such as news feeds, web sites, videos, images, emails, search queries and so on. Yahoo onePlace, is also automatically updated and assigns categories and tags to the collections that consumers create.
The aim is to keep consumers better informed on the topics they care about. For example, if a user is planning a holiday to Paris in June, he or she could create a “Paris” collection, and begin linking it to weather conditions, city guides, restaurant reviews, hotel reservations, walking maps and so on.
Marco Boerries, executive VP of Connected Life at Yahoo, said: “Over the last three years, we have aggressively executed on our mobile strategy to deliver innovative and indispensable services to consumers globally and become the starting point for the most users.
With the introduction of Yahoo! onePlace, we are announcing the next essential component to our mobile product line up.”
Yahoo onePlace includes the following features:
· Centralized and open content management
· Personalized views
· Dynamic updates
· Leading Mobile RSS reader
· Smart organization
It’s expected to launch in Q2 2008
